Clay is a wonderful tactile medium that children instantly fall in love with.
It’s three dimensional nature and possibilities develop and sharpens their minds to think about structure, shape and form. Children will take away from this course the knowledge of understanding clay and its versatility, an openness to new ideas and experiences and a huge sense of accomplishment. They will be encouraged to create and express themselves freely with this medium without any boundaries.
Children will learn and experience several techniques such as:
- Coil building
- Slab rolling
- Pinched pot method
- An opportunity to go on the wheel
The classes for 6-10 yrs and 11-13 yrs age groups will be held separately, and each child will be assigned tasks according to their skill level. Clay will be provided by the tutor (see material cost below).
