About SCASS
The Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences was inaugurated on Wednesday morning of May 2015 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, to crown the celebrations of Sharjah as the Capital of Islamic Culture. The center aims at developing and promoting education about astronomy and space sciences in the Arab World in general and the UAE in particular in order to be a destination for science, research, heritage, education and tourism for school students, university students, researchers and families of all ages.
The center has many attractions, most important of which are:
- Planetarium,
- Astronomy Exhibition,
- Space Exhibition,
- Exhibition of the Universe in the Holy Qur’an,
- Astronomical Observatory,
- Cosmic Park.
The center also has other facilities including a cafeteria and a gift shop for astronomical and scientific souvenirs.
Planetarium show times:
Saturday: 5:00 pm & 7:30 pm
Sunday to Wednesday: 09:00 am & 11:00 am (Schools) – 01:00 pm (Public)

Ticket price for adults: 20 AED (13 years and above)
Ticket price for children: 10 AED (4 years - 12 years)
Ticket Prise for children under 4 years: Free (Entry to the planetarium is not permitted for children under four years old.)
