The creativity and education center for children and adolescents.

The creativity and education center the Gelbe Villa is a house for children and adolescents of the school age, which was opened in March 2004 by the Hamburger Foundation Jovita. The Gelbe Villa works preventively and participatively at the interface between school and leisure time and creates a broad range of educational opportunities in the social and cultural strongly mixed settings.

The deliberately free activities include extracurricular projects for school classes, recreational and holiday workshops, interactive exhibitions and other events. The work will focus on the topics of supportive general education as well as strengthening of competences on a broad scale: creativity, environmental and nutrition education, natural sciences, language development, media competence, cross-cultural understanding.

The house offers various creative workshops, studios, seminar and event rooms. The workshops offered - designed and coordinated by an experienced pedagogical team - are carried out by experts (i.e. professionally trained and pedagogically experienced honorary colleagues) always in small groups. The overall approach includes treatment with affordable, well-balanced meals and offers its own children's restaurant as well as a milk bar.

By connection practice-oriented educational and leisure activities for young people, the Gelbe Villa offers an innovative model that broadens the classic educational approach and enjoys a great deal of popularity. On average, about 120 adolescents use the Gelbe Villa daily. Positive feedback also comes from teachers, educators and parents. The close and regular cooperation with schools and hoards, other institutions of childcare and youth work, cultural institutions and institutions of the economy creates a synergetic networking.
