Near the Potsdamer Platz the Park am Gleisdreieck invites you to walks
In the wild green, visitors can make new discoveries. For decades, the terrain between the rails was just an unused urban wasteland. Now the area on the Gleisdreieck between Yorckbrücken, Möckernstraße and Tempelhofer Ufer has become the new 26-hectare park on the Gleisdreieck. The railway tracks of the suburban train divide the area into Westpark and Ostpark. The Westpark is rather designed in the urban style and is crossed by the subway viaducts, while the Ostpark makes the former railway history still alive in many places. The part of the park at the southern edge including the Monumentenplatz bears the name Flaschenhalspark.
The park is equally attractive for the residents of the adjacent quarters, for business people who work at Potsdamer Platz or in the neighboring Technikmuseum, but also for visitors and tourists.
Discoveries on the former railway area
The elevated railway, big meadows and the lines of sight with the skyline at Potsdamer Platz integrate the resort into the inner-city development. Again and again you can find historical traces of using the railway such as rusty rail tracks or remnants of switchgears. Pedestrian and cyclists can explore the park by walking on attractive landscaped paths.
