Figure theater and puppet theater in Berlin-Friedrichshain
Since 2006, children's theater is open in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The name is program: "the small form". The inviting, family-style rooms offer space for 50 spectators. The initiator, Evelyn Geller, has fulfilled a dream with this theater that she has had since her puppetry studies at the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch".
The actors of the children's theater shine in sizes of 20 cm to 2 m in theater pieces that are written for viewers above the age of 3, and so that the adults have their fun. Preference is given to modern fairy tales and texts, such as "The Very Unfriendly Crocodile" by Faustin Charles, or "Circus Schardam" by Daniil Charms.
For over 20 years it has been played for this "most demanding and sensitive and critical audience", as the writer Franz Fühmann called the children's audience.
During the week, it gets played in the morning for school classes and kindergarten groups and on weekends for family audiences. In addition to the own repertoire, guests and colleagues perform at the children's theater so that the theater can present a varied program.
