Drum up your festive spirit at ifc mall and celebrate the Year of the Tiger!
Celebrate the new year at “beautiful: the rhythm of prosperity” festive installations with plentiful cheering Chinese drums and glowing lanterns hung high in the air. Inspired by the tradition of visiting festive market and lantern festival in the old days, Oval Atrium has been transformed into a traditional bazaar with a contemporary touch. The display is elegantly decorated with colourful Chinese drums and peach blossom trees, sending inspiring festive wishes to visitors.
The centrepiece of the installation is the 4m tall giant lantern surrounding with numerous auspicious drums, representing an endless flow of luck, fortune, and joy. Play the interactive game “The Rhythm of Fortune” in the middle by hitting drum and collecting points, a hieroglyph representing a beautiful blessing would be shown on screen for visitors as a new year blessing.
“Walkway of Fortune” is a moon-shaped alley which both sides are inlaid with nicely crafted wooden plaques featuring hieroglyphs and their Chinese character prototypes, showcasing the structure and auspicious meaning of each hieroglyph. Visitors can take a stroll along the walkway to find the special message behind the lucky word while delving into the century-old culture.
The other side of display is the interactive “Drum of Music” – visitors can play festive rhythm at your call, drumming up the festive spirit and empowering with positive vibes for a powerful beginning of the Year of Tiger!
Don’t forget to take home a Fai Chun* and personalise with auspicious embossing stamps before wrapping up the visit.
