About Bettina Sim
Bettina Sim is a Singaporean artist whose art revolves around notions of escapism, childhood, nostalgia, dreams, and mythological narratives – all of which have been reimagined through pop-culture and her own experiences.
During her time in the BA(Hons) Fine Arts programme at LASALLE, she was intrigued by the language of flowers and their spiritual relationship with humans through sculptural dioramas, and has dedicated much research on the subject. She is currently preoccupied with experimenting with unconventional mediums, such as Styrofoam and plaster, in addition to the figurative, vibrant and colourful works she is best known for, in order to push herself in unfamiliar situations.
