Educators Symposium

The Malay Heritage Centre invites you to our inaugural Educators Symposium, where we will delve into ways to enhance students’ learning and experience on Malay culture and heritage, and the significance of learning about another culture in the 21st century.

The Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) is a museum at Kampong Gelam that showcases the history, culture and contributions of the Malay community within the context of Singapore’s history and multi-cultural society. The Centre is currently closed for a revamp, but we continue to bring meaningful programmes and travelling exhibitions around Singapore. Follow us on our social media channels for our latest offerings.

MHC is under the management of the National Heritage Board in partnership with The Malay Heritage Foundation.

This symposium is designed for educators who not only deliver the curriculum, but also design experiences for students to foster a meaningful appreciation for Malay culture and heritage. Teachers will also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Malay culture and heritage.

Highlights:

  • Explore how AI enhances teaching of Malay culture in Primary education.
  • Uncover fusion food as a discussion point about Malay culture and values among youth.
  • Discover how gamification, using Snake and Ladder, enhances learning.
