The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is one of the longest-running country-focused film festivals in Singapore, with its beginnings tracing back to 1983.
For over four decades, it has served as a gateway to the wondrous world of Japanese cinema and culture. Curated with the hope that film can spark curiosity and deepen appreciation of Japan’s rich traditions and contemporary expressions, JFF presents both timeless classics and fresh new voices from Japan’s film industry.
This year, we proudly celebrate the 43rd anniversary of JFF in Singapore with a diverse line-up of films that showcase the uniquely charming, powerful, unsettling, and intimate stories of human relationships and lived experiences. JFF 2026 is also part of the SJ60 Celebration, commemorating 60 years of friendship and bilateral relations between Singapore and Japan. We are delighted to be part of this special milestone and to continue bringing Japanese cinema closer to audiences in Singapore.
Proudly co-organised by Japan Creative Centre, Singapore Film Society and The Japan Foundation, JFF this year will take place between 1 - 11 October 2026. We look forward to welcoming you to the festival. See you at JFF!
