When children are emotionally affected by anger, anxiety or sadness; they will absorb far less than when they feel happy, relaxed and comfortable with their surroundings. Adopting Dr Gary Chapman’s “The Five Languages of Love” concept, this programme:
● provides children with a safe learning environment to enjoy learning through interactive activities,
● engage parents with practical hands-on strategies to improve communication and promote optimistic attitudes/behaviours at home. Parenting tips and techniques will be shared to provide guidance for parents to support their children’s learning development, especially as they promote to Primary One.
The five languages of love are Words of Affirmation, Giving Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service and Physical Touch. If parents and their children are aware of one another’s preferred language of love, the home environment can become more nurturing and positive.
Showing love, kindness, care and concern for one another is the most basic and yet the most important platform to improve family bonding and understanding.
