Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training

The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) was created by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council in 2010 to preside over technical and vocational training in the emirate.

ACTVET is committed to establishing policies and standards that effectively regulate technical and vocational educational institutions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Its goal is to increase the number of skilled young Emiratis employed in rewarding positions, with opportunities for life-long learning and personal development.

In addition to regulating technical and vocational educational institutions, ACTVET is also responsible for the licensing of trainers and tutors that meet the demands of the UAE’s local market. ACTVET's mandate includes: providing guidance and assistance to the Abu Dhabi government and private institutions on technical and vocational education and training; undertaking original educational research in coordination with Abu Dhabi Education Council; and developing strategies and mutually beneficial partnerships with public and private education companies and bodies, as well as with training institutes.

It is at the core of ACTVET’ s mission to contribute to the social welfare and the youth development. Towards this goal ACTVET is engaged in the promotion of initiatives and events throughout the year that benefit the community of Abu Dhabi, in particular the young generation.
