DIY Makers' Spring Camp at Makerspace! Learn about fabrication and making, build your own projects this spring break.

This spring, we are bringing you the opportunity to dive into learning and experimenting with the fabrication tools and equipment at Makerspace. Children will learn each day about a creative department and to apply technical and creative knowledge to produce a project of their own.

We are offering two themes this year: Week 1 being My City and Week 2 being The holy month of Ramadan.

This is a unique opportunity to get hands on, active and creative and develop basic skills from working with the laser cutter, basics of electronics, basic sewing, how printing on fabrics is done, using a hand drill, soldering basics circuits, working with LED lights, batteries and wires, building with clay bowls and cups and other.

All in all, this is a multi-disciplinary and fun week if you take it all, however, you can still choose to enrol per day and focus on specific topics as your time allows.

Camp Schedule:

Mon, 28 Mar - Building a Night Light, Laser Cutting and Electronics, build a special LED city Skyline, with a hands-on workshop on using laser cutter & electronics!
Tue, 29 Mar - Patterned Mugs, Hand Building with Ceramics Decorate your mug with items that relate to the UAE, using stencils and the slab work method decorate and assemble your very own mugs!
Wed, 30 Mar - Spring break asks for a Spring Tote Bag! Textiles and Printmaking Play around with paints and fabrics and make a cool tote bag! Make and sew your very unique and special bag and decorate it using block prints and pompoms.

Mon, 04 Apr - My own Ramadan goodies Bag! Textiles and Printmaking play around with paints and fabrics and make a cool tote bag! Make and sew your very unique and special bag and decorate it using block prints and pompoms.
Tue, 05 Apr - Building and Customizing a Hot wire Game
Wed, 06 Apr - Ramadan Lanterns, Hand Building with Ceramics, Using the laser cutter create your own pattern using geometric shapes and cut out your templates for your lantern and assemble using the slab work method!
Thu, 07 Apr - Building a Night Light, Laser Cutting and Electronics, Enjoy the month of Ramadan with a hands-on workshop on building your own Ramadan Night light using laser cutter & electronics!

Dates: 28 March - 8 April

Time: from 9:30am to 2:00pm, there's late pickup from 2:00 - 4:00pm.

Fees:

For single sessions: AED 250 per day per participant
For one full week (4 sessions): AED 860 per camp per participant.
Late pick up: AED 50 per day per student (daily from 2:00pm to 4:00pm) this is additional cost.
