The story takes place in the ancient land of Persia, in a fictional bedouin camp called Shoombalahoomba.
The camp is headed by the Baba family, an honour that has been passed down to them for 200 years. There are two brothers Cassim and Ali, and their wives Morgiana and Cashcarra.
As a reward for their leadership, service and patriotism to Persia they were awarded the Star of
Persia, a most sparkling and precious jewel that is believed to have magical properties and bestows prosperity and security where ever it is kept for those and their kin.
We learn of a rogue band of thieves who are scouring the land looking for the star of Persia. In their search they raid camps and steal all the jewels and gold leaving its residents impoverished and almost destitute.
The band of thieves is headed by the terrible and fearsome Haroun. They are aided in their reign of terror from living in an enchanted cave that is inaccessible unless you recite its secret message to open its entrance. The cave is filled with jewels and gold that the thieves have stolen from surrounding camps and settlements.
While the Baba family find the secret enchantment to open the cave, fearsome Haroun will stop at nothing to own the Star Of Persia for his collection of treasures.
