Bazaar in the Garden (BIG) is back with a halloween theme this month!

 

Come dressed to the theme at our first BIG Halloween! Trick or treat yourself at the lifestyle market where local gardeners and makers share their craft. Don’t forget the free workshops, tours and talks on Halloween-related favourites – pumpkins, bats and spiders! We promise it will be a spook-tacular Saturday!

Lifestyle Market

Learn about the rich biodiversity at the Jurong Lake Gardens! Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the delightful sounds of nature on this free guided walk.

There will be 2 sessions conducted for the day and registration is required.

Craft with Us: Halloween Masquerade

  • Drop-in. No registration is required

Drop by our mask crafting station and unleash your creativity starting with the templates provided. Pick a favourite and let your creative spirit guide you as you create your very own mask using ribbons, markers, and other embellishments to take home!

Web of Tales

Be captivated by tales from the web-spinning world of spiders as Mindy Neo shares enthralling stories of spiders that promise to weave a web of wonder and fascination! Put your knowledge to the test with spider trivia and puzzles, and maybe win a prize or two!

Crafted from Nature: Pumpkin Carpenters

  • 9.00 AM - 10.00 AM
  • Banyan Hall, Gardenhouse
  • Open to all ages. Recommended for children aged 7 and above to be accompanied by an adult.

Join us for a morning of woodworking and explore the artistry of crafting with recycled timber sourced from tree pruning works in our green spaces, including Jurong Lake Gardens. In this hands-on experience, you will be guided by Aileen Toh to shape, colour and assemble wood to create one-of-a-kind wooden pumpkins. Discover the joy of woodworking while learning more about the trees in Singapore!

Classroom Critters: Going Batty!

Unearthing Spooky Edibles

Ever wondered what edibles have links to tales of horror and ghostly connections? From the variety of Musa plants to Oroxylum indicum (Midnight Horror), Plumeria obtusa (Singapore Graveyard Flower) and lastly the iconic Cucurbita pepo aka Pumpkins, join Shi Ling from the Jurong Lake Gardens edibles team as she shares how you can use these eerie edibles in your Halloween parties!

As human’s best friend, there is a plethora of knowledge to uncover about these charming 'fur-iends'. Prepare for a tail-wagging adventure where you will uncover intriguing facts about our canine companions and have the chance to meet our delightful dog ambassador.
