In June's Bazaar in the Garden (BIG), join us for a day of fun and exciting programmes! 


Kick-start your day with us through the fun filled series of children's programmes to learn more about the biodiversity in Jurong Lake Gardens!

Following this, spend your afternoon with us and learn about growing edible plants in high-rise apartments, and growing cacti and succulents in our humid environment!

Join us onsite or from the comforts of your home and we hope to see you at BIG.

Online Talks and Workshops

Children’s Storytelling

  • 9.00am – 10.00am

The rivers gushed out! The birds flew far away ... The elks chewed up all the trees! What was happening to the forest?

Join us and listen to a true science story simplified for children about an apex predator, "The Tale of the Howling Wolves" and learn how to make a paper forest craft.

Jurong Lake Gardens Mystery Game

  • 10.00am – 11.00am

Join us for a session of fun to learn more about the biodiversity found in the Jurong Lake Gardens! 

In this online session, help the mommy White-breasted Waterhen find her chicks and learn more about the biodiversity and attractions in Jurong Lake Gardens along the way!

Do note that children will need to turn on their cameras for the session.

Highrise Edible Gardening (June)

  • 2.00pm – 2.45pm

 Many residents in Singapore reside in high-rise apartments where sunlight and space are limited. Join us online in this talk with Dr Wilson Wong to learn how to grow your edible plants successfully if you are an apartment dweller. Pick up tips on the suitable range of crops to grow and nuggets of knowledge that will ensure success in growing your own edible plants.

Online Gardening Q&A (June)

  •  3.00pm – 3.45pm

Have issues growing plants in your garden? Join us in this virtual meeting to get them answered by our in-house horticulturist, Dr Wilson Wong. This session will be run monthly during Bazaar in the Garden.

Upon successful registration, do send your photos with your questions to by 22nd June 2022, 5pm if you would like Dr Wilson Wong to have a more thorough understanding of your question. You may also choose to ask questions during the live session without sending photos.

Growing Cacti and Succulents in tropical Singapore (June) 

Have issues growing cacti or succulents? Join us in this online talk with Shawn Chen from Greenfingers Singapore where he will be sharing tips and tricks on how to care for cacti and succulents in our humid environment, as well as a list of cacti and succulents that grow more easily locally.

Biodiversity Tour at Jurong Lake Gardens

Come on down to Jurong Lake Gardens and learn about the rich biodiversity that you can find here! Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the delightful sounds of nature on a free guided walk.

Smell the fragrance of flowers in bloom and take in the sights of the variety of plants in the gardens.

Dress comfortably and wear suitable footwear. Bring along a water bottle, hat and a camera to take lots of photos!

MOLLY the Mobile Library (June)

Join us as we bring the library closer to you!

We have books for all ages and you can look forward to borrowing and returning books all in the same place.

Do remember to bring your library card and Trace-Together device! Due to Safe Management Measures, we are limiting to 5 persons on board and not more than 15 minutes dwell time. Please note that entry on board the vehicle is via Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS).

Event will be held at Wave Plaza near Forest Ramble.
