Little Village Child Development Centre

Little Village Child Development Centre

To nurture children who are passionate and enthusiastic about living and learning.

Little Village is an oasis in the heart of Singapore that is spread out across four pre-war houses set amidst large open outdoor spaces to support active, collaborative and discovery learning.

They believe in creating opportunities for supporting meaning-making explorations, investigations, encouraging critical thinking while promoting knowledge construction. Thus, their curriculum places emphasis on the processes of learning, such as exploring, experimenting, hypothesising, and problem solving. These processes, they believe, play a critical role in children's acquisition of knowledge, skills, and more importantly, the development of the qualities of the mind and character that form the foundation for lifelong learning; qualities such as perseverance, reflectiveness, inventiveness, and self-regulation.

Teachers work and learn alongside children to co-design in-depth learning experiences that emerge from children's passions, interests, experiences and questions; learning experiences that are worthy of children's attention and effort.

The Kindergarten Curriculum Framework (KCF) and Early Years Development Framework (EYDF), developed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), serve as important guides for their curriculum development.
