Nature Play: East Singapore Group

Nature Play: East Singapore Group

Nature Play® is child-led play, for all ages, every week, all weather, all seasons and its free

When: Every second Saturday 9am.  Please visit the facebook group for fortnightly dates.
With all things child-led, the session ends when it feels right to head home, individuals and smaller groups leave when they are ready.  It really depends on everyone's energy levels, weather, mood and if you brought your lunch with you that day.

Meeting Point: At the large stone pavilion, just 10 metres from the main entrance.

What to Bring: A small healthy snack to share, a cup for iced tea, picnic blanket, sensible walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing (rain poncho's, sun hat's etc)

What to Leave: Being an eco-friendly park, leave no trace. Make sure you take your rubbish - including anything biodegradible as it changes the soil pH. Please also ensure that logs which have been upturned during play are returned to their original position, this is to protect micro habitats, minimize disturbance and maintain the clear paths, often marked using logs.

What to Expect: The stone pavilion meeting point offers a nice cool spot for a wait for everyones arrival.  Slow walk into the park takes by a small pond, under lush tropical trees, alongside a large marsh, slopes and logs.  The path is not very pushchair-friendly, so you're recommended to use a sling or piggy-back for children not ready to walk themselves.  When you reach the base there is overhead shelter to enjoy a seat, and plenty of features to facilitate play, for all ages.

Nature Play® is about creating a space for the children to lead their own play, and a place for the adults to learn how to support that.
'Child-led play' means each child is completely free to follow his/her own play urges while, at the same time, respecting others. Successful child-led play depends on observing behavioural boundaries, such as no violent or aggressive behaviour. Both children and adults are asked to help keep Nature Play® a safe and calm place for everyone.
Your baby... In the early years of your baby's life the brain operates in the frequency ranges used in hypnosis - delta and theta. These are pure download states, downloading EVERYTHING at 40 million bits per second! Just by being outside, on the earth, in nature, your child has the opportunity to download everything around them in the natural environment.
In order for сhildren to bond with nature and the earth, they must spend time outside.
Your toddler... Children need to play for their brains to grow to their full potential, to unfold their intelligences, to evolve their imagination and creativity.  Please don't bring any toys into the woods, there are plenty of 'sausages', 'horses', 'houses' etc there already.
