That's right, our March holiday workshops are now open for sign ups... In the month of March, our holiday workshops are focused on giving our kids skills and knowledge through the Arts which stays with them forever. We want to inspire kids to apply what they have learned on their own - In the real world.

  • African Folk Art

Come examine African Art through the work of contemporary African artist Elisha Ongere. Experiment with geometry blended with an African theme— as you learn to use a visual language of shape, form, color, and line to create an exotic composition of the African people. 

Older kids will learn to create their own rhythmic patterns through understanding the function of symbolism as a form of communication in both current and historical African cultures. Leave the literal behind and challenge your visual senses with this popular yet powerful style of art that makes Elisha Ongere’s artistry internationally acclaimed!

Ages: 4+, 7 and above

  • The Himalayas

Expand your palette by learning to paint with a (safe) knife!

Join us in this workshop where you will learn to create a realistic landscape of the highest mountain range in the world using impasto palette knife on canvas with acrylic colors. Learn techniques using a new medium to give your mountainous surface a unique sense of texture and add raw depth to your very first landscape painting.

Palette knives are seen as a sign of confidence in a painter; producing a range of effects from textured to flat colors. Children can learn to wield them with impasto paints, and when no-ones looking feel like Van Gogh!

  • Impossibly Chic Cats

Learn about the wild and whimsical creations of the Laurel Burch; a talented artist whose art continues to inspire kids all around the world to express themselves by embracing their playful imagination. 

In this workshop, children will embark on a vividly expressive journey that will nurture and hone their imagination through acrylic painting. They will learn to pay attention to a ton of detailing (that makes Laurel’s work so intriguing) in a visually stimulating environment and push their artwork to a magical world of bustling colors!

  • Lipman's Postal Card

In this illustrative postcard + bookmark set, children will use Lipman’s Postal Card as inspiration to get creative with their watercolors. They will learn effective color mixing techniques coupled with a variety of detailed brushwork techniques to bring life to their drawings. 

This project is geared to both the beginner and intermediate painter, adapted to challenge your child at whatever level they are at. Take advantage of the unique properties of watercolor to not just mix it up, but allow it to blend and mingle on the paper!

  • Madagascar Totem Pole

What’s a totem and why do some cultures create totem poles? Get ready for a cultural immersion with this hands-on (toxic-free) clay workshop. Children will be discovering 3D ratio and proportions through sculpting with references to animals in the Madagascar animation. They will learn about color value and gradations as they apply the right paint techniques to achieve a primitive finish—giving their totem pole a native story to share!

Join us on this 2-day journey to push your creative boundaries by learning to combine your art resources into one beautiful creation.
