Creating Games like a Champ!
Are you
-
between the age of 6-14?
-
really into games and technology?
-
ready to create something of your own?
If you said yes to all the above, then you should join the Bloxels BootCamp!
What is Bloxels?
A hands-on interactive platform for kids to build, collaborate, and tell stories through video game creation, Bloxels is a tool for you to create your own game.
What is the Bootcamp?
A weekend of fun, that's what! You'll learn how to create games using Bloxels in an intensive hands-on 3-hour session. Your project can (and should!) be submitted to the KVGM.
KVGM? What's that?
Bloxels US is organising an international contest also known as Kids as Video Game Makers Contest (KVGM). Submissions are judged by creativity, level of design, storytelling, unique use of toolset, and surprise elements. The Grand Prize Winner wins an all-expense paid trip to the Game Developers Conference, the world's largest professional video game event held in San Francisco.
What is KVGM?
Video games are special, because they combine so many different disciplines - art, programming, architecture, story-telling, iterative development, quality testing and many more.
Kids as Video Game Makers is a contest designed to give kids - ages 5-14 - the opportunity to show off their video game-making skills.
With Bloxels, kids as young as 5 years old get the power to create and share within a medium they know and love: video games - as well as learning through the entire process.
What is GDC?
Game Developers Conference (GDC) is where everyone involved in the video game industry comes to hang out, learn, show off new games/toys and exchange ideas that shape the future of the industry.
Over 27,000 people attend this conference every year in San Francisco, California. It's a pretty big deal! Actually, it's the biggest video game conference in the world.
How does KVGM Work?
KVGM starts with a 3-week window for kid's to concept, design, build, test, play their own video game telling a story about how they envision their future. Kids between the ages of 6-14 years old will create their game and then submit it – along with their own game box art – to panel of industry judges to compete for the top prize: an All-Expense Paid Trip for up to 4 People to GDC in San Francisco, California from March 1-3, 2017! Also, the top 3 winners will each have their game and box art on display and recognized at Game Developers Conference, the worlds largest professional video game event, held in San Francisco each year.
This is a unique opportunity to be highlighted on the grand stage alongside major video game publishers, indie developers, and industry professionals!
