ACRES World Animal Day Carnival!



Celebrate World Animal Day With ACRES!

A Cruelty-free Charity Carnival:

  • Bringing the cruelty-free and sustainable local community together to create awareness and promote:
  • cruelty-free living; to reduce the consumption of animal products.
  • sustainable shopping alternatives; to reduce overconsumption and waste.
  • raise funds to help wild animals.

Fundraising Goal: $10,000, which can go a long way for animals, like fuelling ACRES' wildlife rescue vehicle for 1 year.

Join us for a MEANINGFUL CAUSE & A DAY OF FUN at ACRES with:

  • F&B - delicious spread of vegan snacks & light-bites, ice cream and craft beer.
  • Merchandise booths
  • Fun activities for everyone - kids and adults.
  • Workshops and talks.
  • ACRES tours with a wild animal quiz. Prizes to be won for the quiz!

Shuttle bus service from Choa Chu Kang Bus bay to ACRES (including return trip) with scheduled hourly! - Schedule can be found in the attached images.

SLAY

SLAY is a thought provoking documentary from the producers of Cowspiracy and Rebecca Capelli's ( Let us be Heroes ). It takes a unique perspective on the animal skin trade in the fashion industry and what has to change.

This is a featured documentary that brings together a host of celebrities, experts and campaigners to expose unethical practices whilst showcasing practical solutions.

SLAY asks us an important question to consider: Is it acceptable to kill animals for fashion?

Wildlife Art Workshop for Children (5 to 12 years old)

  • This wildlife art workshop will use mixed media to create a canvas that the participants can carry home. Alpana will use paper mats from magazines, materials that cannot be recycled and marine debris, along with acrylic paint.

*Interactive Storytelling*

A Tale of the Didgeridoo (Anyone from young children to the young at heart.)

  • The Didgeridoo (known as the Yidaki to the Indigenous people of Australia) is said to be one of the oldest musical instruments known to humankind. This interactive storytelling session, inspired by the book ‘A Tale of the Didgeridoo’, is specially designed for young children and the young at heart! Come hear the extraordinary dreamtime story of the origins of this amazing instrument, and perhaps even learn how to play (and make different Animal sounds!) & create your own Didgeridoo using recycled materials! Participants will also learn special breathing techniques that will empower them to control and regulate their emotions.
