An amalgamation of vocalists, instrumentalists and a bateria (a type of Brazilian samba band) is Motus’ recipe to fusing samba and mainstream music for everyone to enjoy.
Whether you’re a feet tapper, head bobber or a full-on dancer, aim is to get you moving. This Flipside, watch MOTUS introduce body percussion, stomp and other unconventional ideas into the music they are known for.
About Motus
With a strong musical direction rooted in samba music, MOTUS is made up of individuals from varied musical backgrounds. At the heart of MOTUS are the bateria players that give the band its batucada edge. Complementing the bateria is a line-up of vocalists and instrumentalists who add a distinct style of melody and harmonies that keep music current and engaging. Name is Latin for “movement”, and they aim to convey this message through music and choreography. Vision is to create music that resonates with audiences and allows them to move with the band, as one.
