Love spending time in nature but not fond of the sweltering heat outdoors? We have a perfect plan for you this September holidays!

 

Join us at our September Family Fun for a last hurrah for our beloved Story of the Forest. This immersive installation brings to life a selection of the museum’s prized William Farquhar Collection of Natural History drawings, that showcases our native plants and animals in the Malayan region. Participate in our interactive programmes to learn more about our natural history collection!

I Spy: Spot the Animals! A Hunt Activity in Story of the Forest

  • 31 Aug – 06 Sep

  • Free*, no pre-registration required, while stocks last | Recommended for families with children ages 3 & up

Our magical Story of the Forest immersive installation will be retiring on 13 October this year! Seize your opportunity now to stroll through and enjoy this digital display of selected native plants and animals from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings brought to life. Complete our hunt activity sheet to redeem a stationery set sponsored by Pilot, while stocks last!

This activity was first offered during Children’s Season 2024.

*The activity is free of charge. However, all visitors will need to obtain an admission sticker to enter the Story of the Forest. (Entry is free for Singaporeans & Permanent Residents, and admission charges will apply to tourists and foreign residents).

Drop-in Craft Activity: LEGO Printmaking by Print N Matters

  • 31 Aug
  • 10.30am – 12.30pm & 2pm – 5pm

  • Free, no pre-registration required, while stocks last | Recommended for families with children ages 4 & up

Experience the magic of creating your own prints using LEGO blocks! Learn simple print-making techniques and create unique prints inspired by animals and plants from Story of the Forest.

Interactive Storytelling by Chen Junhua

  • 31 Aug
  • 3 – 4pm & 4.30 – 5.30pm
  • Get Curious! Children's Studio, Level 3

$5 per adult-child pair, inclusive of GST | Recommended for ages 4 to 9 with accompanying adult

Get up close and personal with some of our native animals and learn valuable morals from two collections of Singaporean fables by local author, Chen Junhua. In these storytelling sessions, children will get to hear captivating fables from two of Junhua’s books, Beware the Sunda Slow Loris and Other Singaporean Fables and The Dance of the Sambar Deer and Other Singaporean Fables (new!), and even “speak” to some animals to find out new facts about them!
