Silambam training involves of Meditation, Warm up, Footwork, Blocks, Punches, Strikes, Kicks, Bare Hand Patterns, Self‐Defense, Wrestling, Pattern with Weapons, and Stretching.
For the Patterns with weapon(s), students will learn the footwork without the weapons. Thereafter various spinning techniques and methods of executing them in the flow and without stopping the motion of the weapon will be taught. As students successfully complete the grading, they will go next level from white belt to various coloured belts to indicate their grades. As the students’ progress, they will be conditioning and preparing the body for the upcoming challenges. This includes improvements in flexibility, agility, hand‐eye coordination, balance, strength, and cardiovascular stamina.
