Samantha Colbert, Founder + Creative Director of Strait Lights, launched her company to celebrate life in Singapore.
On a flight from her hometown, Sydney back to Singapore, she looked out the window to the dots of light, floating on inky water and knew she was back home. And then it dawned on her, this was home. Sydney was her first home but somehow Singapore had nudged its way into her heart with its steamy air, satay sticks and stunning skylines.
What really made Singapore feel like home was the incredibly amazing tribe of women who had woven into her life over the years. Coming from all corners of the world, each of them made living in Singapore feel vibrant, supported and joyful. While we all had our own unique story, we also have a shared story of building a home in Singapore.
Our brand is built on the power of this community. Each of our bespoke fragrance blends has been mindfully crafted by women as an expression of their experience living in Singapore. These women have journeyed from all over the world to call Singapore home. They have built businesses, careers, families and friendships in the little red dot and we are honoured to be able to celebrate this.
