Want to Learn How to Craft And Help Out Singapore's Cats?
Learn how to turn old t-shirts into yarn, finger knit them into your own statement necklace, and help the cats at the Singapore Cat Museum.
“Save the Cat Museum – 100 Days of Hope”
The museum is being forced to close down in June 2018, but they hope to find a permanent home!
To help them with their donation drive, 50% of ticket sales will be donated to the Cat Museum, a volunteer-run sanctuary for rescued strays, and also an adoption centre to re-home the rescued cats.
What you will learn:
- How to transform old t-shirts into yarn
- How to finger knit
In the spirit of upcycling, you can bring an old jersey t-shirt.
Time slots available on 4th March 2018:
- 10:30am – 12:00pm
- 2:00pm – 3:30pm
This is a workshop by Agy Textile Artist, and is in partnership with Taikensonzai, City Developments Limited and Singapore Sustainability Academy (SSA).
About Agy Textile Artist:
Agatha "Agy" is a textile artist who specialises in natural dye and free motion embroidery transforming textile waste into creative wearables or art installations. Agy's work looks at the interactions between the public and the environment, and sparks conversations on how our relationship with the environment can be better. One of her long term projects is getting people to reevaluate their relationship with clothing, and transforming it into a positive one through upcycling and repair. She holds repair and upcycling workshops on a regular basis.
