Based in Los Angeles and Hong Kong, Cali's Books is a new publishing house dedicated to introducing young children to the joyous world of words and music.
Founder and co-founder are both moms of young children who trained as engineers and work in banking.
“I’ve loved books since childhood and wanted to transmit this enthusiasm to my own child,” says Carinne, founder. “I’m especially fond of the musical board books I found in France, my home country. These have embedded sound buttons that babies and children push to hear songs and musical tunes. I wanted to offer the same pleasure to children in the English-speaking world. I’m also thrilled that Cali’s Books is something I can share with my baby.
We hope to branch out into new products and areas. For the moment we are focused on books for under-fives, but I’m sure that as my child gets older, I will want to develop books for that age group. It will be fun to grow with our customers!”
