“AI x Cultural Exchange” Summer Programme

In this summer, MakerBay partnered with Nexperium, a science museum in Korea, to provide an exciting learning opportunity for students aged 10 - 12 to learn artificial intelligence and exchange ideas with Korean students! They will meet Korean students virtually to create a mobile app that supports Chinese/English and Korean in the two-day workshop. It will be a unique experience to learn Korean culture while practicing their communication skills.

Venue: MakerBay Foundation (Tsuen Wan)
Target: Students aged 10 - 12 and can communicate in English

OBJECTIVES

Design an app with your foreign friends to promote cultural exchange on one of the above topics!

PROGRAMME FLOW

August 12 (Day 1): Learning Artificial Intelligence (2 sessions)
Participants will learn the fundamentals of AI and try to design and develop mobile applications programmed with AI.

10:00 – 13:00 | Artificial Intelligence Basics
14:00 – 17:00 | Mobile app

August 13 Day 2: Creating and Sharing (2 sessions)
Participants will work with a group of Korean students and apply knowledge to design a bilingual app that showcases different aspects of people’s lives in both places, from food, travel, pop culture to community.

10:00 – 13:00 | Field interview
14:00 – 17:00 | Design and presentation
