Wouldn't these paper roll chicks make adorable little egg holders? This is a fun project for the fun Easter holiday & your tykes will definitely be able to make it by themselves!
What You'll Need
- Toilet Paper Roll/Strip of yellow card stock (1.5″ wide by 5.5″ long)
- Small scrap of orange paper or recycled paper painted in orange
- 6″ pipe cleaners (2 yellow and 1 orange)
- 2 small googly eyes
- Colouring pen/Markers
- Crafter’s tape/Glue Gun (under supervision of an adult)
- Invisible tape
- Scissors
- Single hole punch
#1 CUT OUT A LITTLE BEAK
Fold a small scrap of orange paper or cardstock in half, then cut out a triangle on the fold. When you open it up, it will be a little diamond shape.
#2 CRAFT THE FACE
Cut a piece of yellow card stock to be 1.5″ wide by 5.5″ long (feel free to use a toilet paper roll and cut it to a height of 1.5″). Then use crafter’s tape to attach the googly eyes and the beak to the middle of the paper/toilet paper roll.
#3 MAKE LITTLE HOLES ON THE SIDES OF THE PAPER ROLL
Line them up so they are right across from each other, roughly in the middle of the paper roll.
#4 GIVE IT SOME WINGS
Take a 6″ long yellow pipe cleaner and slide it through the holes in the paper roll.
#5 FEET & TOES
To make the feet, start by folding a 6″ long orange pipe cleaner in half.
