Led by urban farming pioneers Rooftop Republic Urban Farming, these monthly Garage Greens Urban Farming Experience workshops will introduce you to the fascinating world of urban farming. Through hands-on activities, you’ll learn the skills and knowledge you need to confidently germinate seeds, harvest, make compost, deal with pesky pests and how to do this all from your own home!
Our workshops are perfect for families and individuals keen on sustainably localizing your food sources.
You will learn all about:
- Growing seasons in Hong Kong.
- Understanding soil.
- Composting & other organic fertilisers.
- Pest & disease control.
- Basic organic farming principles: Crop rotation, companion planting, mulching.
- Basic skills: seeding, transplanting, harvesting, pruning, weeding, fertilising, assessing plant’s health.
