Opening up potential

Sensory@SPRING exposes children to a wide range of typical inputs they should be receiving from their environment to stimulate each of their senses. To activate and improve children’s sense of sight, the programme provides a variety of activities to challenge their visual system.

Led by Qualified Occupational Therapist

These complete sensory programmes, designed by experienced occupational therapist Ann Bridgewater, bring out the best in children’s abilities because they are age and skill appropriate. Ms. Bridgewater oversaw the equipment selection at SPRING and developed class schedules based on her more than 13 years of experience advising families and working therapeutically with children on sensory issues at both the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital and The Child Development Centre at Matilda Hospital, Hong Kong.

18-24mths programme

As language development becomes more complex at this age and children start to communicate using words, effective and efficient sensory processing is crucial for them to be able to keep up with receiving verbal instructions, processing them and planning out either a verbal or a motor response. Very often in the daily interactions, this whole sequence of sensory processing all happens within the span of a few seconds and children must be ready to respond and react in all the new environments they are coming into contact with.

The programme for this age group continues to strike a balance between optimally arousing and calming the whole range of sensory systems to best facilitate their development in the toddlers.
