Synopsis
Catherine's father, Robert, is a recent math genius and college professor. Catherine not only inherited his father's mathematical talent, but also inherited his latent psychotic traits. Catherine has been dependent on her father because she has to take care of Robert, who has been suffering from mental illness for a long time. Catherine also studies mathematics problems by herself in her spare time.

After Robert's death, Catherine's long-lost sister, Claire, went home for the funeral, and Robert's former graduate student, Hal, came to prepare for the funeral. Hal found a paradigm shift proof about prime numbers in Robert's office, but Catherine insisted that this research was calculated by her own efforts. Hal claimed to Catherine, who did not even have a PhD in mathematics, that she could successfully deconstruct this mathematics. Questions that have remained unsolved for many years in the world. The title of the play "Proof" points out two problems: Is the verification process of this research enough to solve the problem of the century and become a shocking breakthrough in mathematics? And can Catherine prove that she is the original author? During the process, Catherine and Hal began to develop feelings for each other, but neither Claire nor Hal believed her mathematical ability.
