The Parent-Infant Program (PIP) was founded by Anne Knecht-Boyer in 1997 and has since proudly served the Hong Kong community, supporting the development of over 6000 babies.
Saffron Brown and Lisa Pang bring their extensive experience from the health and education sectors. They have taken the fundamentals of child development and have created a program that is challenging, purposeful, engaging and fun!
Saffron (Saff) Brown, a children’s nurse with over 15 years’ experience, has worked in diverse settings, starting her career in neonates and then expanding her knowledge and nursing expertise in general paediatric medicine and the Child Development Centre of Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust in the UK. She has served as a committee member for esteemed organizations such as the Royal College of Nursing and the EU Public Health Commission.
Throughout her time since moving to Hong Kong over 7 years ago, Saffron has worked as an ESF school nurse, clinic nurse and first aid instructor - recognising the importance that the first year of life has on a child’s trajectory into childhood.
Her journey into motherhood in 2020 further stoked her interest in child development, inspiring her to integrate her professional expertise into her home and family environment – adapting to the unique challenges of being a working parent.
Lisa Pang brings a broad and distinctive blend of expertise. With a strong educational background, Lisa has honed her teaching skills over the years. She served as a primary school teacher and then transitioned into a secondary science and maths teacher role, a position she held for 14 years at ESF, Hong Kong. During her early years training at Bebegarten, beginning in 2012, she gained valuable experience in early childhood education, further strengthening her understanding of child development.
Alongside that, Lisa is a fitness and indoor cycling instructor recognising the integral role of physical activity in overall development and the importance of incorporating movement and fun into learning.
Becoming a mother in 2022 has enriched her perspective, intertwining her professional knowledge with personal experience. It has deepened her understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting and the vital role that PIP plays, in supporting parents and their babies.
Together, Saff and Lisa are committed to ensuring that PIP provides a nurturing environment where parents can learn how to stimulate their babies and babies can develop valuable psychomotor skills, social and personal skills and self-confidence. And to deliver a program that evolves to meet the needs of modern parents and their babies here in Asia.
