Tutor Time Summer Programme: Tech and Treck 2017

Come and join Tutor Time fro the best summer ever! They promise a fun, engaging experience that will cultivate and captivate your minds and bodies!

Week 1: Adventure Quest (24th – 28th July)

Join Tutor Time on this epic journey as they travel and trek thier way around this beautiful city and its natural landscapes! You will exercise adventurous spirit in some of the most amazing places that Hong Kong has to offer!

Learning Objectives: Foster creativity

What to do:

Create art with natural materials
Build things in the nature

Field Trip: Cear Water Bay Country Park

Week 2: Farm-to-Table (31st July – 4th August)

We all love to eat, but where does all this delicious food come from? Travel to a working organic farm to see for yourself how Mother Nature provides us with the yummy and nutritious food we need to be healthy!

Learning Objectives: Train up leadership skill

What to do:

Pond fishing
Learn how farmer grow rice
Use stone mill to make and taste soy milk
Bake pizza

Field Trip: Zen Organic Farm

Week 3: Cool Coding (7th– 11th August)

In today’s digital world, computers are an integral part of our lives. This week, you will be learning about how computers work and how we can instruct them to do different things by communicating with them in a whole new language. The cool part is that you can also improve our own critical thinking, logic, language and math skills!

Learning Objectives: Enhance problem-solving skills

What to do:

Recognize sequential patterns
Understand Booleans (True and False statements)
Learn the basica of Booleans (True and False statements)
Understand Algorithms/Decoding/Venn diagrams/Loops

Week 4: Our Community (14th – 18th August)

Hong Kong is a vibrant city with soaring skyscrapers and luscious landscapes. But what can we do to ensure the sustainability of our environment for years to come? This week, you will learn about recycling, wasting food, how you can contribute to a healthier environment and more!
