Ramadan Mubarak! It’s a busy time at Cinema Akil this April with three upcoming film releases, Brother’s Keeper by Ferit Karahan on APR 2 and the UAE premiere + Q&A of Ely Dagher’s The Sea Ahead on APR 3. We will also be screening Youssef Chahine’s iconic film from 1958, Cairo Station as of APR 6 as a Ramadan special!
Back by popular demand, Memory Box, by Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige will screen on APR 1 & 2 and free outdoor screening on APR 6.
Other special screenings include the free screening of Hand Rolled Cigarette directed by Kin Long Chan, the free outdoor screening + Q&A with the filmmaker of We Are From There by Wissam Tanios, and the one-time screening + Q&A of Nawaf Al Janahi’s Before We Forget.

How to get there?
TRAVEL BY CAR
From Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Manara exit (Exit 43) into Al Quoz. Go straight on Al Manara Street until you reach the traffic light facing Home Centre. At this junction, turn right. Continue straight then turn right onto 17th Street, before the Avenue. At the end of the road, turn left onto 6A Street for parking.
TRAVEL BY METRO
The closest metro station to Alserkal Avenue is Noor Bank station. From there, you will need to take a taxi to our location.
