Emirates Kiteboarding Association



The EKA (Emirates Kiteboarding Committee) is the Authority ruling all matters regarding kite surf and its related sports.

 

In 2002 His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has the commencement of his passion with the kitesurf, which took him consequently to try collecting all feasible information about surfing, and surfing Technics, using the Internet, asking friends, and any other possible means to achieve the goal of mastering riding kite.

Shk. Ahmed bin Hamdan AL NAHYAN, started this as an amateur, then participating in local events, such as  Dubai Championship Kite Surf citizens category and he was the first in that contest.

In addition to being a sportsman, his highness has a main role in supporting, encouraging; motivate himself to explore the surrounded atmosphere, finding the suitable way to improve his method on kitesurfing.  He combined his passion to kitesurf with his love of Mother Nature, and carry his stuff over the sea waves, Sea in his life, Having a particular taste and fragrant, using his own tools to practice his favorite sport, kitesurf.

Encouraging young Emiratis to practice participate and to have effective leading positions is at the core of his priorities, Sponsoring a lot of tournaments, competitions incentive for the development of the sport, seeking to gain a leading name among the countries.

The mission of the EKA – ESSA is to establish a communication line between the Government and the KITESURF, SURF, SUP community, to inform, regulate, promote, establish training programs and schools, within the foundations of security and increase the safety standards.
