American School of Dubai

The primary role of the Teaching and Learning Center is to provide guidance and support for continuous student learning.

With enrollment over 1,600 students, world-class facilities, highly experienced leadership, professional, dedicated and certified faculty, staff and counseling teams, a college-preparatory American curriculum and AP program, progressive K-12 curriculum that integrate technology to support student learning, hundreds of extracurricular and student activities in the Arts, Athletics and service learning, an engaged community of parents, alumni and friends, an ASD education is impactful and intentionally designed to prepare every student to be future ready.

The Elementary School provides a warm and caring atmosphere where students collaborate constructively, think creatively, reason critically, and communicate effectively. The program includes a combination of core subjects taught in homeroom along with classes taught by specialists including arabic langauge, art, music and physical education. Library and computer technology skills are integrated into the homerooms. Small class sizes allow students to get to know their teachers and classmates easily. The Elementary School is an exciting place to be after school as well. Students in Grades 1-5 have access to after-school activities. These activities include sports, arts and languages.

The middle school is organized to support these values daily in our instructional program. Starting out with the organization and bonding of a daily advisory group, our students charge off (with a well-charged laptop) into a rich program of core courses, language, music, visual and performing arts electives and fascinating exploratory courses. In addition to a strong academic program, the Middle School offers a wide variety of after-school activities and clubs. The capstone of the ASD Middle School experience is the Week Without Walls program, a week-long educational travel experience that is distinguished for promoting global awareness and opportunities to learn through service. It is true that the middle can be the most exciting of places. Speak to a student from the Middle School at the American School of Dubai, and it is our goal that you will be speaking to young person who is working hard on his or her dreams.

The curriculum at ASD provides a rigorous American College Preparatory program. There is a wide variety of course offerings including many AP courses, allowing for a well-rounded education. In addition to the courses offered during the academic school day, ASD has a thriving co-curricular and extra-curricular program providing a multitude of opportunities for students in athletics, the arts and community service. ASD faculty are a dedicated, professional team of teachers from around the world. They work hard to ensure each student is provided with exceptional education, care and support as they navigate their high school years.
