Azraq, meaning Blue in Arabic, is a non-profit marine conservation organisation registered with the Community Development Authority in the United Arab Emirates.
Its mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY.
Azraq is a uniquely United Arab Emirates focussed campaign. With 2018 marking 100 years since the birth of Sheikh Zayed – the founding father who united the emirates – we want to celebrate and promote the values Sheikh Zayed instilled across the nation, particularly the values of tolerance, progression, environmentalism, leadership and charity.
Azraq will not only focus on the protection, defense and conservation of marine life, but will enable partnerships to be formed with government and non-government entities and individuals for the good of the United Arab Emirates and its marine environment.
Azraq also builds on 2017’s “Year of Giving” in the United Arab Emirates and will specifically focus on marine conservation awareness programs in the country as well as providing opportunities for individuals to assist in the conservation and protection of marine life.
