Explorer Junior was founded in 2012 in the National University of Singapore (NUS) by 3 co-founders. The co-founders believe that every child is unique and special in his/her own ways and learn at his/her own pace. The mainstream one-size-fits-all education system in the market is unable to cater to all children. Thus, Explore Junior set out to research, design and develop specialised curriculum, pedagogy, toys and monitoring methodologies.

The company was conceived as a revolutionary early childhood education program for children aged 2 to 6. Explorer Junior believes that every child is a unique explorer - each having his/her own interests and talents; each learning and developing at varying paces.

Explorer Junior is currently supported and incubated by the National University of Singapore (NUS Enterprise). The Company has also received the ACE Start-up grant awarded by Spring Singapore.
