Junior Architect: Future City

Junior Architect: Future City

Cities evolve according to the changing needs of the population and environmental factors.

The role of urban planners is crucial in anticipating changes and planning ahead. During this 2-day workshop, explorers will put on the hats of the urban planner and experience city planning and executing the plans.

  • Day 1: Future City Planning

The process of planning a city takes many steps and years prior to its implementation. Explorers will take on the role of planners to understand and analyse the needs of the citizens in the city that they are planning for. Thereafter, they will be tasked to plan, design and construct facilities for the citizens using a customized grid map. With climate change and rising urban heat, it is important that planners take into account nature planning into modern cities. Explorer will be exposed to the idea of nature planning for them to incorporate into their planning and execution of their cities.

  • Day 2: Future Green Living

Planning a city is not an easy feat! It requires collaboration between planners and experts of different expertise. Explorers, each with a different role, will be tasked to come together and collaborate to build a modern city. They will also have to design paths to support the increasing green movement. During the planning journey, they will also embark on STEAM-based activities such as unplugged coding.

And much more!
