21 September (Saturday)

Time: 12pm to 1:30pm

The Storytelling + Natural Pigment workshop starts off with a story about the protagonist in our children's novel, Prawn Fish Moon, followed by our Natural Pigment workshop that teaches children various ways to make natural fruit and veggie pigments from ingredients such as berries, turmeric powder and more. The pigments will then be used to create various types of paintings in inexpensive and readily accessible methods at home.

Through this workshop, children will learn where paints derived from during ancient times before synthetic colours were introduced. It promotes lesser use of synthetic products and an opportunity to opt for greener alternatives.

Time: 2pm to 3:30pm

Our Mural Painting workshop gives children an opportunity to learn Colour Theory through the mixing of the 3 primary colours (Red, Blue and Yellow). The colours will then be used freely to fill the wall.

Through this workshop, children will learn different patterns, shapes, colours and sizes through painting. The act of filling the design with colours improves their artistic expression, not to mention the fun they will have, painting on a mural instead of a canvas.

22 September (Sunday)

Time: 12pm to 1:30pm

Our Puppetry Workshop aims to stimulate creativity and encourage imaginative play, allowing the children to create and express themselves freely using readily available materials. Children are encouraged to narrate their own stories with the puppets and musical instruments made from recycled and upcycled materials. A play performance will then be held with the puppets and homemade musical instruments on a mini stage.

Through this workshop, children will be introduced to role-playing, allowing them to explore new narratives and personalities. They will also be exposed to group participation by learning how to interact and work together to build on one another’s story.

Time: 2pm to 3:30pm

Our Colour Dough workshop teaches Colour Theory using dough made from low cost readily available ingredients. Children are taught how to make the dough from scratch and then introduced to make the different colours of the wheel by mixing the doughs itself, starting from the 3 primary colours (Red, Blue, Yellow). After that, they are given sensory and textured materials to make anything they would like with the dough.

Through this workshop, children can experience free play while learning about the science and art of using colour and discovering different textures.
