The first and still the best - it's the Village Day Camp™! For 4 - 14 year olds

It is the most comprehensive Day Camp in Singapore providing weeks of fun and experiences to all who participate.

Campers arrive in the morning and are greeted by their respective counsellors and junior counsellors according to age group. The day is divided into several periods where campers partake in fun and exciting activities. Education Through Recreation™ remains Village Day Camps’ guiding motto and all activities are designed to encompass this notion as well as promote leadership and teamwork. During each session along with new educational activities, campers will participate in excursions off campus such as the Marina Bay Gardens and the local ropes course to name a few, depending up the age group.

Team events will provide insight into effective teamwork skills while providing fun, stimulating challenges. Digital photography will permit the capture of the daily programme, with campers taking part in the action to provide web coverage of what’s happening each day.

VDC Language – English or Mandarin - Available for boys and girls from 7 - 14 years old.

Campers who opt for this programme will partake four mornings each week of intense, yet enjoyable instruction where they will concentrate on two-way conversation, namely speaking and listening. The English course will follow the curriculum used by Village Camps’ European residential programmes.

The unique Village Camps approach to language has shown to successfully achieve significant progress and more times than not has proven to produce better results than classic language schools. The programme will be available for beginner and intermediate levels with a maximum of 12 students per class. Campers will be given a short entry exam in order to determine level on the first day. All teachers will be native English speakers and qualified to teach campers of the proposed levels.

In the afternoon, campers will continue with the regular camp programme by joining groups of the same age and participating in a wide range of activities. The afternoon will also serve as the perfect opportunity for English language campers to practice their newly acquired skills with other campers from the region who are English speaking. This adds enormous value to the programme as it will further enhance the learning experience.

VDC Leadership Available for boys and girls from 12 - 14 years old

The camp is a full day programme in English with morning and afternoon sessions designed to immerse students in a variety of adventure based activities that will enhance their leadership and problem solving skills as well as their ability to collaborate as part of a team. The essence of Adventure/Leadership programming is teaching the basics of communication, cooperation and trust within a fun and safe environment. The course will challenge students individually and in a team through games, workshops, group initiatives tasks, new skills (lead climbing, kayaking, water safety) and high ropes activities. Students will lead, create, think outside of the box and step out of their comfort zones. The end goal will be for campers to create and lead their own activities as a group to younger campers as part of the day camp programme. All this….and still having fun! They suggest that parents who register their children for this course try and do so for a full session (two weeks) as this will be sure to set the stage for better results.
