They want children to know how to interact with their surroundings, emphatise with their peers, and have a sense of curiosity of the world around them. These are the basis of effective growth and learning.

Here at Lucas Children Academy, they provide part-time and full-time childcare services for children aged 18 months to 6 years old. Curriculum is divided into 5 stages:

Nursery 1
Nursery 2
Kindergarten 1
Kindergarten 2

At Lucas, they believe that a systematic and all-rounded curriculum is crucial in early childhood education. Their curriculum is carefully designed based on 4 main approaches:

Bicultural and Bilingual Learning - Language is the key for your children to step into their learning stage and they believe that bilingualism should be nurtured from young. Children should not favor one language over another at a young age as this might affect their language acumen and learning interest as they grow up. They are the first childcare centre to dedicate their curriculum equally to both the English and Chinese Language.
Thematic approach - As the name suggests, their curriculum are connected and integrated within a theme. It allows literacy to grow progressively with vocabulary, spelling and grammar being frequently reinforced in the transfer of knowledge.
Montessori Education - Montessori education is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development. They integrate practical life materials and sensorial materials into their teaching.
Orff Approach (Music for Children) - They want kids to have fun! Orff introduces music into pre-school learning. Musical concepts are integrated through singing, chanting, dance, movement, drama and the playing of percussion instruments. Improvisation, composition and a child's natural sense of play are encouraged.
