Established in 2008 by Maryann - a devoted mother and photography enthusiast - The Studio Loft has persevered through a myriad of challenges, including Maryann's personal journey of launching the business while seven months pregnant, and more recently, the trials presented by Covid-19.
With a background in film and TV production, and experience in the advertising industry, Maryann discovered her true calling in photography following the birth of her first child. She came to realise just how swiftly her son was growing, how fleeting precious moments could be, and the need to document these priceless times.
This realisation sparked her interest in newborn photography, leading her to devote considerable time and energy into mastering this specialized area.
Since then, her work has garnered international acclaim, even winning Gold in photography awards.
Committed to making every client feel comfortable
Maryann vividly remembers a day that shaped her future in a way she didn't expect. It all started with an expected friend who returned from a photoshoot at a different studio feeling anything but beautiful or comfortable.
Her friend felt vulnerable and less than her stunning, blooming self. It pained Maryann to see her friend like this - a joyful moment turned into an uncomfortable memory.
That day, something clicked for Maryann. She saw the need for a place where expecting mothers could feel as beautiful as they looked, where they could feel at ease and cherished during their maternity photoshoot. This inspired her to take her studio, The Studio Loft, in a new direction.
