Umm Al Emarat Park

Umm Al Emarat Park

Experience. Educate. Enrich. Explore

The park is a continuation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was famed for his love for the desert and wanted to preserve the gifts of nature for the future generations. He stressed the importance of environmental conservation and invested heavily in spreading greenery and date palms in particular. Sheikh Zayed also founded specialist organisations to protect wild life in the UAE.

Set among 14.5 hectares of tranquil landscaped informal and formal gardens, alongside tree-lined promenades, Umm Al Emarat Park features many new attractions and facilities however the core of the facilities is the extensive flora and fauna.

Sustainability is at the heart of the park’s design; the development team worked diligently to ensure that over 250 existing broadleaf and palm trees, that were over 25 years old, were removed from the site, stored and replanted in the newly renovated park. Over 10% of the overall park was re-vegetated with indigenous and naturalised species and reclaimed grey water saves up to 40% of consumption. The same consideration is given in the ongoing management and development.

The trees, plants and gardens are the life of the park and its system is carefully maintained through the efforts of and extensive team of specialists resulting in a world-class park system that invites residents to relax and enjoy the open spaces. We strive to set examples for those we work with for maintaining the highest standards of environmental management.
