Apparently we had reached a great height in the atmosphere, for the sky was a dead black, and the stars had ceased to twinkle. By the same illusion which lifts the horizon of the sea to the level.

During the 80s and 90s, Shakey’s is known as the pizza restaurant with an old pub look where live bands play for entertainment.

Sherwood “Shakey” Johnson loved ragtime music. He dreamed about having a place where his family and friends could get together, share some pizza and beer while listening – and often singing along – to favorite ragtime standards.
Back in 1954, he opened the first Shakey’s Pizza parlor & Ye Public House at the corner of 57th and J Street in Sacramento, CA. There was nothing like it. People came from all over the world to enjoy the original thin crust pizza, ice cold beer on tap and most of all, the fun, family friendly atmosphere.

Today, Shakey’s is Fun, Family, Pizza. We keep adapting to the changing needs and preferences of our Guests. We love to WOW Guests with our great tasting food and excellent service.
