Zaya Early Learning Center

Please note that this is an overdue event

Zaya Early Learning is largely inspired by the educational philosophies of Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf Education).

The principles of Waldorf Education evolve from an understanding of human development and address the needs of the growing child. Through their experiences our students cultivate their intellectual, emotional and physical capacities to be individuals confident in themselves and ready to thrive in the demands of the formal school setting.
The Zaya Early Learning programs are designed to nurture each child's innate curiosity and natural instincts, to learn through experiences and play, while gently introducing them to the World of education.

What inspires them about Waldorf?

A Waldorf program is defined by predictable routine and dependable structure. Consistent daily and weekly schedules contribute to a nurturing and home-like atmosphere. Children become familiar with and secure in the rhythm of their daily activities.
The curriculum at a Waldorf preschool is focused on creative learning over academics. Media such as television, computers and electronics of any kind, are excluded in favor of activities such as play, acting, cooking, painting and discovery.

The programmes:

Nursery:
The nursery is intended to emulate a home like environment, and the core focus of the nursery program is to create predictable rhythms and to provide appropriate matriarchal figures for the children to imitate.
One lesson per day is presented to the children and the entire day is spent focusing on the preparation, experience and closure of the lesson.
The nursery enroll children from 12 months to 3 years and our timing options vary. Please see our Timings and Fees page for further information.

ELC:
The Early Learning Center uses a Waldorf curriculum which is taught to children in classes of 12. There are 2 classes per age group, but children are grouped into mixed classes for various lessons and activities.
The ELC introduces academic skills to children in a gentle and experiential way, enabling the child's development to be carefully taken into consideration every step of their learning process, ending in the 5-6 class where they are taught reading, writing and math skills all in perfect time for their transition into a formal educational setting.
They enroll children from 3-6 years.
For timing options please see our Timings and Fees page.

After care:
The Nursery offer after care every day from 2-5pm. Children who attend aftercare will be provided with an afternoon snack, and when applicable, are able to nap.
The aftercare is a non structured time for children to unwind from their day and explore the playground/classroom where they will remain until they are collected by their parent.
