Musical Theatre: Summer Holiday Course
It's summer in the city and we thought it was time to dust off our favourite mixtape cassettes as we explore the musicality of theatre and the theatricality of music! Our August holiday course at Mawaheb is all about the excitement of musical theatre. Using an original play written and directed by our course instructor, participants will work towards a performance showcase which merges the worlds of music, dance and acting flawlessly!
We'll spend the week learning about all that happens behind the scenes in a theatre show: from auditions to table reads, from acting rehearsals to flashmob choreography, from designing props to bringing them to life for our end-of-week performance showcase for our friends and families.
Partipants can choose to purchase a package which uses upcycled communal materials (800dhs) or add in an individual theatre kit (1050dhs) with awesome items to keep for themselves after their course is over.
Dates: 22 to 26 August 2022 (Monday to Friday)
Time: 10am to 1pm (daily)
Venue: Mawaheb Art Studio, Al Quoz 3

Prop Design: Summer Holiday Course
It's summer in the city and you're gonna need a ticket for the Hogwarts Express, because Harry Potter is coming to Mawaheb! Our stage and screen prop design course at Mawaheb is for anyone who has always dreamed of attending Potions lessons or classes in Care of Magical Creatures then popping over to Quidditch practice before testing their wand work in Charms or Transfiguration!
We'll spend the week with the props of Harry Potter, hand-crafting our very own Hogwarts luggage case which will include potions and potion ingredients, an individualised wand, a Hungarian Horntail egg and even an ornamental Golden Snitch! We'll also perform in a special showcase at the end of the week which actually uses our very own props to bring the famous Sorting Ceremony to life for our friends and family.
Participants can choose to purchase a package for communal materials (800dhs) or add in an individual design kit to keep (1050dhs) so they can continue making magic at home all summer!
