George Frideric Handel’s majestic Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba (Solomon) sets the stage for the internationally acclaimed Australian soprano Danielle de Niese.
Considered one of the best Handel-singers globally, accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra under Felix Korobov, de Niese performs famous arias from Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Rinaldo, showing her qualities as an interpreter for the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini and Georges Bizet. She also sings the famous Granada by Agustín Lara. Felix Korobov and the Russian National Orchestra conclude the concert with the exuberant orchestral colours and strong melodic inventions of Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s oriental fantasy Sheherazade.
