Turning Pointe Youth Ballet presents its adaptation of the well-loved fairy tale “The Story of Princess Aurora” at Dubai Opera on 10 June.

Once upon a time, the beautiful Princess Aurora was born to King Stefan and Queen Leah.

Many were invited to the kingdom to bestow their wishes and gifts on the Princess. The good fairies Flora & Fauna gave the princess gifts of beauty and song, but before Merryweather could bestow her gift, the evil Maleficent arrived uninvited and cast a spell on the Princess.

Merryweather used her gift to alter the wicked spell cast by Maleficent so that Aurora would only sleep until a True Love’s kiss awakens her.

The three fairies in the forest then hide the Princess until she turns 16 years old; she lives happily with the forest animals, oblivious to the evil that lies ahead. Then, one day, Maleficent sends her crow, Diablo, to find the Princess and discovers she is still alive. Come and see how this magical story unfolds as it is beautifully and dramatically performed by the talented dancers of Turning Pointe Youth Ballet.
