Dubomedy was founded on April Fool’s Day 2008 by veteran Broadway entertainer Mina Liccione and Dubai’s awarding comedian Ali Al Sayed.
Their mission was to create a sustainable local comedy community by providing professional training and platforms for comedians to perform.
Over the past decade, thousands of students have graduated from the Dubomedy Arts School, the Middle East’s premier comedy training school. With our continued support, many have gone on to launch successful comedy careers, performing across the region and filming specials with Comedy Central Arabia.
As well as staging our own comedy shows and festivals, Dubomedy works with corporate clients, providing full event production, brand campaigns, team building workshops, script writing, professional hosting and moderating, choreography and a whole lot more.
Mina and Ali lend their energy and support to many community and charitable initiatives. Through the Clowns Who Care project, Dubomedy has taken comedy arts workshops and events to refugee camps in Jordan and to underprivileged communities in Uganda. In 2015, Dubomedy launched Autism Smiles UAE - a comedy club, teaching young people circus skills, musical and physical comedy routines, joke telling, laughter yoga, magic and other fun things.
