Program Description
Digital cities are cities connected to the internet and equipped with technological platforms that can enable the Internet of Things. With these technologies, cities can become cleaner, safer, and more efficient for all its residents. In this 5-day online camp, students will design, build, and code a virtual digital city that they can then see, roam in, and interacted with. They will also prototype a physical replica of their city using items such as papers, water bottles, paper cups, and strings.
Learning Outcomes
- Learn and use fundamental coding concepts using a block-based coding language
- Design and build residential buildings, schools, hospitals, power plants and other buildings for the digital city
- Explore how digital cities work and how they are designed and planned
- Exercise creativity and design skills to create fun as well as functional projects
- Improve teamwork and listening skills by working in a collaborative environment
